Hi! I'm Stephanie and I'm new here. I haven't posted yet, I don't think. I have only had my ostomy for 6 weeks. I'm trying to find a wrap that will hold the bag even though mine is above the belly button line. I bought a wrap and the pocket for the bag stops at my barrier ring (I wear a two-piece system). So the front of the wrap doesn't quite cover my bag fully. I hope I'm making sense. Any advice would help.

Do you have a colostomy or ileostomy?

I have an above-the-belly-button colostomy and use a 2-piece Hollister system. Regular Hollister bags are long. Hollister does have shorter bags available. Is your goal to hide the ostomy?

All ostomy suppliers offer free samples. Look up Hollister, Coloplast, Convatec on the internet and call them. There are many other brands you could try as well.

Thank you! I have an ileostomy. I currently use the Hollister 2-piece system as well. My goal would be to hide the bag. I like Coloplast systems as they fold smaller and Velcro in place. My issue is most items made to hide a bag are made for ostomies that are lower, so my wrap isn't wide enough to cover from the point of my stoma barrier to the top of my bag. Maybe I need a larger wrap?

Try a tummy sleeve from a maternity shop.

You could try a horizontal Stealth Belt by turning your bag horizontally.

A Corsionol Tytex Stomasafe Plus might work because it has a hole for the bag to go through and then another layer that folds over and a little pocket on the end to tuck the end of the bag. Amazon has them and other places. They are my favorite as they are breathable material and comfortable.

I believe that might work, but for sizing, you will have to measure around that part of the body.

Other than that, a maternity tube like someone above mentioned, but make sure you get one with a silicone waistband; otherwise, it will ride down.

I am in the same position as you, and it's frustrating. The best wrap I have found is the curvy wrap from Beautiful, but it still rides up on my waist and is annoying. Plus, if you're wearing any kind of pants, the waistband can be in a different place than the top of the wrap, and if you're also wearing a belt on your appliance, it's a lot of things to adjust throughout the day. The solution for me has been to wear a longer cami under my tops and forget the wrap altogether. That at least covers the pouch and gives a smoother appearance. I will wear super high-waisted pants that I can tuck the whole thing into, or pants that I can leave the pouch outside of because they are lower cut, and then I wear a cami and a longer top work cardigan over them. When the weather is warm enough, I live in summer dresses that are looser fitting or have an empire-type waist, and that is super comfortable. The elastic belt that comes with the appliances is enough support for me.

Sorry, the curvy ostomy wrap I mentioned is from OstomySecrets.

Hi Stephanie. I'm 5 years post-op ileostomy. I've tried many devices. I found the Stealth Belt to be the best. You can rotate your pouch horizontally in its zippered bag. Very concealing. At home, I use it as a wrap and do not insert my bag. They make a vertical pouch for dressing up, too. If you have a leak while outdoors, it will hold the poop in. They have one for swimming when you are ready.

I've had my ileostomy since 12/22. I've been finding that high-waisted boy shorts or very light support wear (Jockey/Hanes/Nautica) keep my pouch secure no matter what type of waist my clothing has and works well with dresses and skirts. There are other styles besides the boy short style that have a high waist and lots of support but not too much like a Spanx type thing. The material is also lightweight and is comfortable even on hot days. I've never even tried a belt or special wrap. These seem to work well for me so far. I've also tried bra/tube top type things as a wrap. My goal is the best support with the least bulky silhouette. I wear more high-waisted clothing these days, but it works well with cropped tops/jackets, and overall, I feel like I'm more confident because of the fact that I love clothing and style, and this ileostomy doesn't define me. :)
