COPING WITH CRAP.
Those with stomas cope with crap,
as sometimes it’s a handicap
to have crap uncontrollable,
filthy, smelly, and horrible.
It can be quite embarrassing,
humiliating, harassing,
for crap to show in company
and yet, there is an irony.
Those with chronic crap trouble
can make their problems more than double
if they let it get to them,
causing them mental mayhem.
But those who manage to control
crap from their body and their soul
learn a great deal on the way
and don’t let crap have the main sway.
There are many lessons to be learned,
and many bridges to be burned
before we find a route that could
be described as being ‘good’.
This world of crap’s a cruel place
where nearly every perceived space
maybe seen as threatening, so
we may not even want to go.
Yet, as time passes and we cope,
this gives us strength and builds our hope
so we become resilient
and life becomes more brilliant.
Gradually we do adjust,
building confidence and trust
that we can cope with anything
that life throws at us with a sting.
