This is the type of ostomy bag I have. It's a one-piece Hollister bag. I have been trying to find some really good waterproof shower bags that are easy to put on and take off and don't get your bag wet. Any help would be greatly appreciated, including where I can get them, the website, and all. Showering can be a lot easier for me because I was told I can't get this particular bag wet. While that may or may not actually be true, if it gets too wet around the seal, it can start to come up, and then the bag needs changing. So, I would prefer not to get it wet. Thanks.

Wrap the bag with Press 'N Seal or Cling 'N Seal and put the pouch in a Stomagoogle:

Good luck finding something that will keep it 100% dry. There are bags and “bowl”(like the stomagoggle) type products that you can try but they’ll fit everyone a bit differently so it may work for 1 person but not another depending on your body. Eventually you’ll figure out you don’t need to cover it and you’ll shower, dry it off with a towel or hair dryer and go on about your day. The simpler we keep these ostomy things we deal with, the less it affects our day to day things.

I tried the cling wrap/press and seal stuff by itself when I first got my ostomy, total waste of time. Might work if you do as you mention. 🤷‍♂️

I made a little shower curtain; it keeps the direct spray off but does not keep the bag completely dry. I often go 10 days before I need to change. youtube/HPQBOuHO9ds

Are you sure it cannot get wet? If water weakened the wafer adhesive, we wouldn't need to use expensive medical adhesive remover. I use the Hollister 2-piece system. I shower with it on all the time. The wafer fabric seal remains stuck. The flange main seal remains stuck. Sometimes I change the bag after... or sometimes just use tissue to wick up moisture around the flange and bag... then continue on with my regularly scheduled life. It all dries quickly enough. I've showered 4 times with the same flange... no problem.

I never found a shower bag or the press and seal that works but these have worked 100% of the time for me:

Same with me, none of the seal wraps worked. The stomagoogle worked fine, but a little moisture would get on the pouch. I could cover the pouch with a washcloth and place it inside the stomagoogle, and that worked fine. Using the seal wraps instead prevents having to use a washcloth.

In my years of having my ostomy there are no shower covers out there that work that I've found thus far and I've tried many. Waste of money!! The best thing I did find that worked out better than anything was using  press and seal and using hytape to tape every single edge as good as I could. Water still got in there if I did not have it taped perfectly but very little water compared to not having it on there at all.

I just change mine daily with my shower now. My bags do not hold up past one day anyhow.  Some people shower with them on and are fine but I find that the soap and shampoo makes my edges lift.

Early on, I went through many a roll of Saran Wrap/Stretch n'seal - so very frustrating, never felt totally showered, and it never worked. I kept reading on here how to just shower with your apparatus or totally naked... I now do both, and boy, that made life so much easier, and I actually have Saran Wrap/Stretch n'seal in the kitchen where they belong.

I use a ConvaTec 22771 pouch and have never had it loosen when wet - not even after an hour in the pool dancing. Good luck finding ways/products to make life easier and more normal... it will happen in time... jb

I haven't ever used anything while showering, and I haven't had any of the edges lift.  I use coloplast 1 pc convex pouches.  I just give it a quick dry off with my towel and then hit it with a blowdryer for a quick minute.

I use Coloplast one piece convex myself with extra large barrier strips all around.

All I do is waterproof tape along the top of the barrier strips because of scar tissue and take a lukewarm shower using wash cloth on front. Blow dry afterwards. If I wear my otosmy belt, then I will use small plastic bags all around to keep it mostly dry.

Hot showers sweat the bag off so I save those for bag change days.
