We watched the Twilight Zone marathon on TV after dinner. Mrs B was "sawing logs" when the clock struck midnight. Soon I was too. Quick note: I had no problems with my colostomy. Just made sure to add M9 deodorizer drops at each empty. And take a discreet peek at Mr Stoma and bag from time to time to prevent any surprises. I also packed air freshener spray for bathroom use. I call it the "Peace Keeper."

This guy would come near the glass and give it a quick hit and run away. Folks not paying attention were fun to watch jumping.

Next door this little guy was keeping watch.

Hello... come here often?

This young flamingo was strangely... not pink. This usually happens while raising a chick. They get their pink color from the carotenoids in the food they eat, such as algae, brine shrimp, and larvae. These are natural pigments that give carrots their orange color and ripe tomatoes their red color. Flamingos have a specialized metabolism that allows them to process the carotenoids in their food without becoming ill. Their bodies break down the carotenoids into pigments that stain their feathers.

The zoo has a walk-through exhibit. Wallabies, kangaroos, and emus surround you. They are not caged. Pretty cool to experience. Just like an animal park we visited in Tasmania.

Final stop, the tortoises.

Santa Barbara Zoo is always fun to visit. Afterwards, we walked to the Moby Dick restaurant on Stearns Wharf for dinner.

The view walking to dinner. Almost to Moby Dick. Tomorrow we have a free day, then we point my rattletrap Honda south and head home... to the weasel.

I have the scratches and scars. Weasel 10, Beachboy 0. I even kept my distance while taking the picture; got scarred toes too.
