G-Day Guys,

I showed this test a few months ago, but I have added a couple more and the one I am very impressed with is the Salts Seal. See the photo; Salts are the last on the list.

I know the USA can't get them yet, so this is for the UK, Australia, Canada, and all other countries using Salts.

It has been very gentle on the area around my stoma, and I am trying their bag as well; see the photo. It is a one-piece convex drainable bag, and you can get all different colored bag covers.

Regards, IGGIE

I looked them up online - their black bags are so cool. Maybe they'll make their way to the U.S......

I always like Salts bags and enjoyed a few visits to their factory to see them being made. I was lucky to be chosen to trial them while they were in development. Ian, the man who developed and designed them, is a very intelligent man, and the story behind why he changed careers to design ostomy products to help improve everyone with an ostomy's lives is inspiring. Everyone was surprised at how popular the black bags were from the start; they've always been the most popular color.

I've been extolling the virtues of Salts barrier rings since I started using them.  The aloe infused ones will heal any skin issue you might have and keep your skin healthy, plus the seal is extremely strong.  Wouldn't use anything else.

Ditto to all comments here, Ben - I too am a Birmingham girl historically - and indeed, Salts is a great company and produces excellent products.

Their research chemist is also a very giving person... Nothing is too much trouble - The Confidence B range [black being indeed the most popular color - along with a white option for summer and a beige color too] is a very well-designed and exceptionally flexible pouch for an active lifestyle too - like no other on the market.

Best wishes

Jayne

Maybe lobby your insurance/supplier hey - They are worth getting hold of - You will not be disappointed...

BTW, I have no vested interest in the company - just use and like both their products and the ethos of the company!

The States must represent a large market - let's hope trading agreements allow you guys to import!

Hi Terry

Yes - it's interesting how different the various components are across the manufacturers :-))

I use Salts Aloe Vera Secuplast Hydrostrips. So, as I have been struggling with moldable rings, and the only one I like is from Wellands Hydra Seal with Manuka Honey, however the honey in the rings, while they help with healing my skin, they also give me candida. So, when my Ostomy Nurse returns from her leave I might ask if I'd be allowed to sample a few Salts Rings!

Thanks for mentioning them!

G-Day Gracie,

You don't have to ask your Stoma nurse just ring Salts New Zealand and they will send you samples. I did the same thing in Australia.
