LAX Airport went well, TSA efficient, Stoma behaving itself. Soon I was landing in Miami. I must say... I have never walked so far to baggage claim. Then a marathon to the rental car center, lugging my luggage. Thank goodness I'm in fair shape. Three-quarters of the moving sidewalks were out of order. It rained hard when I pulled onto the Florida Turnpike. Soon it faded to glorious darkening cloudy skies. Destination: Florida City and the Everglades. After hotel check-in, tomorrow morning we're off to "Robert is Here" fruit stand for Key Lime milkshakes... then onward to Everglades National Park.

Have you ever been to the Coral Castle in Homestead? It's pretty interesting and mysterious what little Ed accomplished! Enjoy yourself!!! jb

Yes, we visited the Coral Castle on our last Florida vacation. Very interesting place.

Next week, we plan on driving to Key Largo for a canal cruise on the African Queen steamboat. Original boat, fully restored, featured in the Humphrey Bogart, Katherine Hepburn movie.

Oh, I'm a bit jealous of the African Queen steamboat cruise. Can't wait for pictures.
