Any tips re controlling excessive gas. I have a total proctocolectomy (2007) and for the last month sudden increase in gas and episodes of pouch blowout. No recent change in diet, activity or meds.

I drink herbal ginger tea and I think that Ambies eats ginger snaps - I find the tea works for me

I had the same surgery--when I have a problem with gas, I use Gas-X (or the generic of that)--I use the chewable as it seems to react faster.  Anything can give you gas--lots of talking--drinking with a straw--chewing gum--as well as foods.  Good luck!
