Why is My Stoma Still Sore 9 Months After Surgery?

Can anyone tell me why my stoma is sore and painful and I have severe back and arm pain any thing will help me thanks

Please have your blood checked for infection. It is possible to have one kind of infection in the section of intestine that makes up your stoma (infection = pressure / pain) and a different type of infection circulating in your blood causing you pain in your joints and/or limbs. If complete blood work is not done (CBC not BMP), one infection may be found and treated (with antibiotic) but not cure the other infection and visa versa. Thus - prolonging your suffering and reinfecting your blood system thereby becoming a cycle. The key is complete blood scanning for infection.

Thanks ddkraft for advice the pain is really severe and making very deppressed pain everywhere I'm thinking of going straight to a&e takes ages to get doctors appointment then ages for blood tests. Don't think I can stand the pain that long last time I told doctor he said nothing wrong with me.oh we'll keep plodding on ey. Verdun

I would be in a bit of a panic if you know you have a problem and the Dr doesn't help you - i wonder if something got moved or an adhesion has developed- you really need to see a competent specialist -- I heard a Dr say the other day well anyone can resect a colon who is a DR == maybe they can but not on my body!!  I do hope you get help asap...ewesful

Thanks ewes ful I have seen my stoma nurse and she is getting an appointment for me with my consultant but I think it is after major surgery four times on I lost so much weight I need to get my muscles in motion again but it is very nice for your support I really epreciate all of u for your help we need each other for support its great a great site thanks all.
