Hi Everyone,  I wanted to post this because I have been having issues with my Coloplast Sensura Click bags and wafers.  I change my wafer about twice a week.  I change the bag everyday because the filter gets clogged and does not work.  Lately, I have been having issues with snapping on the pouch to the wafer and securing the extra click which is built into the Sensura Click pouches for extra security.  This morning, while making a complete change, I could not get the pouch to snap on my wafer.  Thank goodness I am over 4 years post op because I pushed on the wafer against my belly so hard and still the pouch refused to snap on. I threw out three perfectly good pouches because they would not snap.  All I could see was more wasted money on faulty products. Anyway, in the middle of the pouch frenzy, I pinched my stoma on the edge of the wafer while trying to snap on the pouch.  I knew this because I felt the stoma and I began to bleed.  I freaked out!!! I already returned a box of pouches to Coloplast last month for the exact same reason.  Has anyone had this happen to them?  My stoma is about 1" long - I never caught it on the edge of the wafer before.  I was so upset, I almosted passed out.  All this was going on while I was trying to get dressed and attend Noon Mass today.  I did make church... late.  The bleeding stopped but this was so upsetting on several different levels.  One, the product failed which costs money.  Two, I wasted money because I had to throw out three pouches.  Three, I had a full blown anxiety attack because I thought I injured my stoma and four, my Sunday Serenity vanished.  Any input would be great appreciated.  Thanks for letting me vent.  Have a nice day and for those in the States, Happy 4th of July to you.  Sincerely, LadyHope

Hey Lady Hope,

Sounds like you had a busy morning! Glad it's behind you now. I wear Coloplast two piece and have also had problems in the past trying to get the bag to click onto the flange. I just took a deep breath and kept trying. I did switch one bag out for the other because I was starting to get frustrated and could't figure out what was wrong. Luckly everything finally clicked and I went back to work with some nervousness in case something else might happen. I understand your serenity vanishing due to all the stress you felt in those few moments but hey, it that's the worst then we're good. But if you still have those bags you tossed out take another look at them and see if you can figure out why they won't click. It may of been the fact that you were flustered and trying to get somewhere otherwise maybe it's time to look at a new system?

Thank you very much Mrs. A for your response and input.  I have considered a change but have not had many issues over the last 4 1/2 years.  My concern is product quality.  Are things changing at Coloplast... maybe, in order to increase in the bottom line dollar profit? Who really knows unless we review their P and L's ??  Crossing my fingers that this issue is just a periodic occurance due to manufacturing errors.  Thanks again.  Take care and Happy 4th of July.

LadyHope,

You probably already know I prefer a 1 piece system as it works best for me.  I've never trusted the 2 piece systems but I hear they are wonderful for colostomates.  But I've had manufacturing issues with Convatec before after 20 years of using their products.  When I had the issue, I emailed them  and someone called me within 30 minutes.

They apologized of course and offered me a bunch of free samples as well as a new box of pouches and were also willing to inspect the faulty pouches.  They sent me a kit with a biohazard box to send in my used pouches for "inspection".

I would suggest contacting Coloplast and see what they'll do for you.  If they don't react in a manner that satisfies your concern, switch to a different company.  Just my 2 cents worth.
