Yes. I was mowing the lawn on a hot day and my bag let  lose in the night. You could use barrier strips or water proof tape for additional stick. I think you would have to be out for a long time doing stuff to raise a good sweat for it to fail when you were outside.

Duncan,

I agree with xnine on the barrier strips and/or water proof tape.  I used to work outdoors running cable all the time in 90 degree weather and you work up quite a sweat.  I would also use a one piece back brace to keep my pouch in place.  I only recall one time where my pouch actually started falling off the skin.  Luckily it was mostly empty and toward the end of my shift.

Another trick is to put a small layer of deoderant around the outside of the wafer.  It doesn't prevent sweating on your peristomal skin, but it does help with the pouch not coming off too early.  Hope this helps.

Hi Duncan,

I've worried about the same thing. I like to sauna, which is ALL ABOUT the sweat and I do use the barrier strips and love them. Everything has been fine.

Actually, the only time I've had leaks is because of what has been going on from the inside out.

Good luck!

Vicki
