Hello old friends & new Osties... Quick update... Had my Urostomy for 11 & a half years now, so well used to it, no dramas & sometimes forget that I once had troublesome cancer. A complete removal of your bladder is no fun (Radical Cystectomy) but hey ho! I'm still here. Haven't bought any more strange cars lately, I'm getting older so seem to have settled down with the 2014 Skoda Roomster SEauto & family Skoda Fabia Wagon 2008... I think one of these should see me out!!

Weather in the UK has been quite extraordinary, long periods of dry hot weather. Heatwaves, with shortages of water & heathland/moorland fires. After a couple of months, cooler/wetter weather is expected to kick in next week hopefully.

No real vacation this year, just a couple of weekend hotel stays at various UK locations & some Heritage Steam Railway visits.

Also some family taxi work getting grandson to & from airports on his university summer field trips. One to the north of Scotland & one to the Swedish Arctic Circle. I have also taken him back to Uni to organize his new house. This is his third year & this time next year he should be graduating with a BSc degree. He may then want to continue on to do a PhD & his Masters.

Me & stepdaughter also spent a very hot day at The Royal International Air Tattoo at RAF Fairford. Great day out with participation from many of the world's Air Forces celebrating the 100th Birthday of the RAF. Fortunately for me, this airbase venue is only a 45 min drive from my house, as over 3 days they had 160,000 visitors.

I hope this note finds you all well & enjoying your summer. Kind regards & best wishes... Pete.

Hello Pete. Thanks for the update. It's great to hear what other people do with their time as It all sounds so much more interesting than the things I get up to.

Although I was pleased and proud to see my daughter win the veteran women's class in the triathlon at Emberton park yesterday.

Best wishes

Bill

Cheers, Bill, hope you are keeping well. Oh yeah, triathlon, something I love watching on TV, but wouldn't dare try to participate. Congrats to your daughter... brave lady. Can't wait for cooler weather and some rain.

Hi Pete, So good to hear from you. I'm not on as often as I used to be, so I've missed some long-time friends... But new people join all the time, so we're still here communicating with those who reach out... I reached my 70th birthday, but despite a myriad of medical issues, which complicate life, I enjoyed a day in NYC with friends and family. Don't get in as often as I used to... Broadway has gotten too expensive... but we had dinner out, followed by a show... and I've rehabbed enough to enjoy walking the streets of the city... somewhat. Took a cab back to the Port Authority, to get the bus back to NJ. Enjoy what's left of summer. We're all hoping for cooler weather here in the Northeast. But soon, we'll be complaining about the snow and the cold. Spring/Fall seasons are way too short... Best regards, Marsha

Marsha, you took me back to 1993. Fly-drive vacation to the USA... NY, NYC & some PA. Bushkill Falls, Marshalls Creek Area. Up to Niagara (USA & Canadian) then back down via Buffalo, Rochester, Syracuse to NYC.

In NYC, we did Wall St, Radio City, Empire State, Broadway, Staten Island Ferry, USS Intrepid, etc. Great city & had a great time. Haven't been back to the USA since... But glad I did it when we did.

Oh yeah, the car was a '94 Chrysler Imperial. Maroon metallic, with a leather roof & crushed velour interior. Known as "The Pimp Mobile."

Really good to hear from you. You've been quiet. Glad to hear it's been due to good reasons, I think grandkids must keep people young. I had no children and so no grands, but I do have 29 nieces and nephews as well as 11 grand N&N so there's a bit of hectic interaction. We live quite a bit distant from everyone (I think it was on purpose once we sold our restaurant at the beach), but we are the ones everyone always calls for advice, so I guess we're still part of the party. We just don't have the ocean access anymore! Keep singing, Pete. It's good for the soul.

Peace

Nancy
