First off, just because you have an Ostomy, doesn’t mean you aren’t normal but I think I know what you mean!

And, I also know all about the belly button castor oil. Benefits all around, with this amazing oil (not referring to eating/drinking, rarely recommend). Great for Skincare, dry skin, healing and more! In fact, I personally know many that have benefitted from it. Again, I use daily on my face and I mix it with magnesium (spray for the body), an essential oil and put on my feet, then socks! It’s the best- soooo hydrating! Ya’ll should try it!

I have done it several times BUT, I very quickly learned (& knew beforehand, so I was very careful) that having an oil that close to the ostomy wafer (glued to the skin) was definitely risky.

NOW- IF say you know you will be at home (maybe just a couple errands etc) and not going anywhere really for the couple-few hours then it’s definitely worth it! I still do it at times :).

I recommend putting it on your feet as well, even mixing with magnesium spray. I use this on my eye brows, lashes and face daily! It’s a fabulous oil (as long as you get the correct brand, cold pressed etc. lots of options on Amazon). It can stain clothing as well, so just be aware…

So all in all, great idea! I recommend using it different ways and it will still absorb. The only negative to putting it in the belly button would be the risk of loosening your Ostomy bag.

I am so happy for you that you have healed yourself. Sometimes, you have to take matters in your own hands to heal yourself or by the grace of God. I have never heard of this and if it really works. I'm sure big Pharma would suppress this information because there's no money in it for them. I do know and understand that certain things can affect the inner part of the body through the skin (subcutaneously). Rogaine (minoxidil) used for hair loss rubbed on the scalp can affect the heart and give heart palpitations as well as make the ankles swell (edema) so, I wouldn't doubt that other things rubbed on the skin including the navel could affect the inner body in some way. Voltaren rubbed on the skin can ease joint pain but I've been warned can cause a Chrons episode. I will check this out further with my GI doctor as I have previously been plagued with pain from scar tissue which fortunately now has subsided. I would just be concerned of any adverse affect this can have. Thanks for the info and stay well.

Thank you so much! I’m new Had an ileostomy last May. I’m doing very well and didn’t want you to think normal was the issue… lol no one is normal in anyway lol just that I wasn’t getting oil near my flange. I don’t take castor oil by mouth but, it just has so many good benefits on the skin I just was curious about the belly button and using it. Some say it’s wonderful to keep them regular? Just getting feedback. Thank you… bless you!
