"Feel more confident going horizontal..."

That should make for some interesting dumping stories. 😆

Lay 4 or 5, 2-foot-long pieces of toilet paper on the bowl water before you empty. Will help to quell splashing. Or... get bag ready, flush toilet, empty bag during flush.

Public toilets with auto flush... grab a couple of paper towels before entering stall. Fold paper towels in half, place over flush sensor.

Remove paper to flush.

That's all needed. Take the advice and see what works for you.

By the way, I hate my bag! 😁😋

Why would you say it makes some interesting dump stories?

With a two-piece and rotation, I empty the same as you. Vertical.

Do you have any interesting dump stories? No wait. Forget I said that.

You do have stories.

Now if you think a vertical bag being vertical to drain is a story, then I, too, would agree. But for me, that story would need pictures or crayons.

So the logic with all that toilet paper is.....gift wrapping your poop to the sewer man.

That's the holiday season spirit.🤦‍♂️

You have given me some interesting insights into certain feature attributes of using a two-piece system.

I wonder if you have ever considered using one of your bags hooked up to a tube to drain into a floor bucket so you don't have to get up at night?

I guess that would require sleeping only on one's back, but the overflow could go off the edge of the bed into the bucket. 😆

Likely risky as it could detach easily though. 🤔

But yea Fitzy

Try the antibacterial dish soap method, carry a little squirt bottle and one of those short water bottles in your purse and you'll see your odor problems disappear.

Baking soda doesn't work as well as predissolved antacids in water. Both work by raising the pH level of the output so it's unfavorable for the digestive enzymes. However both leave the bag with film on the sides making them not as clean as the antibacterial dish soap method.

Also it's easier to over do with antacids or baking soda and irritate the stoma.

So just two tiny drops each time works better.

Detached an issue?

Ooh, that setup brings back a memory pre-osty.

I hated getting up to pee during the night. Kept a urinal nearby.

Well, if you can figure from there the many things going wrong with that setup—

It did. Yeah, let that imagination roll.

You, rather I, will never ever keep anything near me like a drain, bottle, bucket, hose.

Ain't worth the mess and risk.

Hi Fitzy

I forget I have an ileo most of the time, and the output is usually looser, sort of self-cleaning because of that. I have had mine for 8 years and do everything that I have always done, but with a few small adjustments. When sitting and emptying, put some paper in the bowl first.
