0300 hrs and I'm already awake; it's nothing new to me. Most days of the week, my DSW (Disability Support Workers) are getting me ready for the night at 1830 hrs. They have to massage and sponge my body and moisturize the muscles and tendons so I get a good night's sleep. Apart from that, they also attend to Arthur, my SPC (supra pubic catheter), and Bubbles, my colostomy pouch. I sleep with my laptop on my bed so it's easy to access for me. Today is my group day; I get picked up by Maxi Taxi, and the Disability Survivors Group is off to a big shopping center. Most of us do window shopping, and we have lunch there. I have belonged to this group since 1990; my friends all have a physical disability, and we're special, being able to share and care for our lives. We're having lots of great times together each Tuesday. Now that I've found this MeetAnOstomate online, I'm more at ease to share with you my ups and downs or just whine about them. Looking forward to a brighter day than yesterday; the rain stopped a little while ago. To all my Ostomates around the world, either a good morning or a good night. God bless you xxoo :D

Hi schneckerm88,

It's great to hear from you, and I'm sure you'll find plenty of support from the large community here. Everyone is so understanding and ready to share their experiences.

Your morning routine sounds quite involved, but it's wonderful that you have such a supportive group around you. It's amazing how you've been part of the Disability Survivors Group for so long. Those outings must be a great way to connect and enjoy some time out with friends. I can relate to the comfort of having a community where you can share your ups and downs. It really makes a difference, doesn't it?

Congrats on being part of this community! You'll find lots of support, information, and some really cool people here. Looking forward to hearing more about your adventures and experiences. Take care!
