Has anyone ever had a yeast infection near the stoma? Did you use a cream and/or the powder? Ty

I use Domeboro soaks after cleansing with soap and water. Also, using the crusting technique with nystatin powder I get from my doctor. The powder you use only a little and then dust off all the excess and apply a skin barrier, as in use a wipe over the powder and then powder again, then another swipe of skin barrier wipe and let dry. If your finances allow, you change and do this every day. You may have to change more often to avoid yeast infection.

I use the powder, the skin barrier spray, then I use a fake skin or a "barrier sheet" between my skin and the flange. My doctor also gave me an inhaler to use "off label" by spraying it directly onto the affected area.

If life gives you yeast, add some hops and barley and make a beer. I'll drink to that. Regards, IGGIE

I douse in Povidone. Instant kill-off of all pathogens.
