Does anyone have a loop ileostomy? I have fistulas along with perianal Crohn’s Disease and had to have a loop ileostomy created so it can heal.

Is there anyone else going through this?

Not me, I have a double barrel ileostomy. It has two stomas, one for mucus which isn't a bother and the other for stool.

It's supposed to be temporary, but they say I have terminal cancer and should have been dead months ago.

I look upon every day as a free gift from God.

Hang in there, it will get better, just takes time. 😊

Mine is supposed to be temporary too. My surgeon doesn’t know right now if it will be reversed.

Hi AJR77,

I don't have an ileostomy but I am currently struggling to heal a small bowel fistula and we have recently learned I also have a urine fistula too. Since surgery lead to my fistulas they are reluctant to operate again. So in addition to 2 new stomas, I came home with an accordion drain to keep the drainage out of my pelvis.

What kind of fistulas do you have? I think there are several types.

I have 3 fistulas in the perianal area caused by Crohn’s disease. I had 3 setons placed there a few months ago. I had to have my jpouch disconnected and a loop illeostomy created to rest and heal rectal area.
