Hello everyone! It's day 538 on an all-meat, fat, and egg diet, and I feel great!

My goal is to kill metastasized colon cancer.

I've been fighting it since 2017 when I lost the first foot of colon and part of my rectum. Chemo didn't work. The second cancer in 2021 took my uterus, ovaries, and the rest of my colon except a foot. Chemo and radiation didn't work. I became a reluctant, angry ostomate and thought my life was over. In 2023, when my weight had ballooned to 194 pounds, I lost the bottom 1/3 of my left lung. I had tried everything to get my weight under control since 2017, but nothing worked for more than a week or two. Not diet, nor exercise, and I had a whole slew of physical problems including being depressed to show for it. I was using a cane and a wheelchair when needed. I worked hard but in circles until everything got finished. I was exhausted as soon as I woke up.

I saw a video on YouTube about a doctor who swore by the carnivore diet to get rid of inflammation related to illnesses, so I started studying up on it and got ready to try it for myself.

June 1st, 2023, two years to the day since I became an ostomate, I started the carnivore diet.

It saved my life.

On day 538, I am healthy and happy with myself. I'm a relaxed and flexible 147lbs to 152lbs and am able to do anything I need to do such as gardening, shoveling snow, moving furniture, or carrying around a 25lb baby on a daily basis. No more cane or wheelchair.

My rashes, eczema, allergies, weight gain, depression, arthritis, skin, nails, teeth, and hair have all improved, and my brain fog has dissipated.

I feel younger, and I recover faster. This last year had all the extreme highs and lows you could imagine, but I got through it relatively unscathed. This terrible and wonderful period of my life has shown me how strong I have become mentally and physically. I attribute this recovery to the carnivore diet.

The last year has been the most stressful of my life, which is saying something, but here I am. My CEA numbers jumped significantly three months ago but have slowed down now. None of the known cancers or suspected cancers have grown either. I'm very happy.

I have started making lazy cabbage rolls in the Dutch oven every two weeks. I've been doing this for three months with no negative effects. I go heavy on the ground beef, bacon, and butter but light on the rice, cabbage, cauliflower, stewed tomatoes, and onions. It's enough to help me with my lifelong love of vegetables.

Best wishes to you all and have a wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Terri

Terri, faith/positive/optimistic thinking is more amazing than you ever realize. I had a co-worker who was diagnosed with glioblastoma — a very aggressive brain cancer. Her son had just started college a few months before her diagnosis. She stated she was going to live to see her son graduate college and see him married. She accomplished both goals — living for 5+ more years.

Hi terrizajdel. Thanks so much for sharing this. It's my 72nd birthday today, a phrase I never thought I'd say. I won't bore you with my health problems, but your diet sounds great, and perfect for me. I have had health and gut problems since birth, literally, and my son has had the same. Would you mind sharing some details or links to your diet? I am so happy to hear about your recovery, it's really wonderfully uplifting!! I wish you and your baby and family all the very best for the festive season, and send best wishes that you continue in good health.

Hola desde Argentina, Norberto; soy técnico en ostomía. ¿Tendría ese video de YouTube para que vean las personas ostomizadas que atiendo? ¡Feliz Año Nuevo!

Hey aTraveler, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! I believe in miracles and the power of positive thinking. It's a difficult thing to be positive about when you first become an ostomate, but in my case, it is so much better now with a fiber-free diet that I'd never go back even if I could. Take care and best wishes in 2025! Terri

Dear Queenie,

Look at you! Happy Birthday and many more! I wish my parents would give carnivore a shot, but they are too dependent on the medical system and are afraid to change anything. I make them bone broth and take them slow-cooked meats, or they would eat more vegetables. Get some ideas from YouTube carnivore diet videos. There are lots of people on there now with recipes and advice. There are no hard and fast rules for it, but to get into ketosis, you need fat with your meat. Eat what you like, including skin and fat. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Here are some of the YouTubers I've followed: Dr. Shawn BakerMD, Laura Spath, KenDBerryMD, Anthony ChaffeeMD, Bella the Fat and Buttergirl, Mikhaila Peterson, Jordan Peterson, etc. The best advice is fat, butter, eggs, and less fiber if you aren't going totally carnivore. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! Best wishes for 2025. Terri

I eat a lot of ground beef, bacon, butter, and fatty inexpensive cuts of beef. I save my bacon grease and use it to cook everything else. I have one large and a medium enameled cast iron Dutch oven to cook indoors with, and a BBQ and large air fryer to use outside when it's warm out. I like my meat medium well, so I start it off at 350 to 375 degrees until cooked, then shut the oven off and leave the Dutch oven in the oven until it's time to eat. I use a thermometer. It's tender and browned by then. Batch cooking makes sure I always have something to heat up or eat like boiled eggs and precooked bacon. Best of luck. Here are some YouTube channels to watch. Good luck!
