Morning All,

I have a stupid question, and if anyone can answer this it will be my follow Ostomy Mates.

I have a very bad Achilles tendon, and doctors are talking crutches, now what worries me

is the bowel. I have had two prolapses since surgery in Oct 2011.

Has anyone out there with a colomy had to be on crutches, if so did this push the bowel out more? Maybe I am concernng myself about nothing at this point. Just don't want Another prolapse!!! Would go another route if this would push stoma out using them.

Thanks Much

Hi i was on crutches a few years ago i broke my foot, but mine were the elbow crutches  and didnt seem to make a difference to my stoma. If there the type of crutches that go under your armpit then i wouldnt think so..If they are the ones that are under your arms ,it might be worth going for the elbow crutches, if you know what sort i mean, worth looking into if you have to keep the crutches for a while .. Good luck   tc ambies...

Morning,

Thank you so much...I will tell Orthro Dr. Elbow Crutches. You are right the more I think this thro,

as I also have a bad shoulder and the elbow crutches would take pressure off the shoulder also.

Thanks again, I really don't want the stoma to prolapse Again..you help take the worry off of my mind.
