Hi all,

Here's a question for you.I am heading off on hols at end of the month and was a bit worried about the humidity and my pouch sticking as I had problems in N.Z last year.I  gave my stoma supplier a quick phonecall to ask if there was anything I could use,the person on telephone advised me to use a roll on anti-persperant deodorant on my skin before attatching flange.Has anyone tried this or similar? and does it work?

Be lucky, happy people

I tried this.  My N=1 is that it didn't help nor did it hurt...

Hi......are you using a remover......when you change flange and do you use a skin prep.......

If not check Hollister and coloplast....I have been in hot humid climates and use the remover when I shower and before putting on flange .......then I wipe with a skin prep which removes any possible residue that remover did not get......and then I use a hair dryer to completely dry the area........

one other thing....I am also using the coloplast sticks...is like a glue sick ........this I put around the opening of the flange hole..before putting it on  ....this works....is like a barrier..........

I then use Hypofix tape ( check internet....is available online)  is a hypo allergenic tape...then put  tape around the flange......it works and I never had any problem.........in hot humid climates......

Hi Gordonc,  I am planning xmas in Aus and had the same problem last time i went.  I contacted Coloplast Australia to ask wether their adhesives were any different from the standard European, but no one seemed to know, however they did suggest the use of flanges as also advised by WAB,  I use Cavilon spray now as a skin protection and hoping that with the spray and the additional flanges I will be OK this year.
