Apologies for My Recent Post Overload

Some of you may have noticed that I have gone into post overload recently. I occasionally post something that I think the members will find humorous for a minor distraction from the everyday osteodrudge. Although I have an ileostomy and have many of the problems people talk about in the forum, I seldom jump into the problems people are having concerning new stomas, leakage, smell, etc. Others jump in with an abundance of advice and mine would be redundant. I also find that my 2 cents is worth just that. However, recently I have been on prednisone and I have been posting and messaging like the Mad Hatter. I apologize if I have offended anyone or if Rach and Ed think I've gone looney. It may continue for a couple of days until the dosage is lowered so take cover, some of my posts may be lame.

Baddancer,

Prednisone has a tendency to do strange things to a person, so don't worry about going post crazy on here. Something you think may be babbling may be just what someone needs to read and will help them.

I personally will do anything and everything to avoid going back on that stuff. It has a major mood-altering effect on me, and my poor children are afraid to even ask a simple question for fear I'll rip their heads off.

So no need to apologize, your two cents' worth could be worth millions to someone.

Very well said budd002.

Badancer, anyone who has been on Prednisone completely gets where you're coming from.

I was on it for years prior to surgery and was the most miserable b*tch you could ever have the misfortune to meet.  Been off it for 2 years (since ileo) and I now know what it is like to be amongst the land of the living.

Keep posting mate, the place would be far less interesting without you on it.

Cheers,

Jo x

I agree. I was on it myself for awhile, and it changed my moods and made me sleepless. I won't be going back on it anytime soon.

That darn prednisone made me extremely moody and just plain cranky...and hey, every two cents counts, right? Post on, Mister!

Take care,

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh Prednisone... The devil's drug... LOL... and when doctors are at a loss, that seems to be their answer until something changes. I was on it for 20 years, and to say I was a madman is putting it mildly. I think it destroyed not only my bones, it destroyed everything in my life's path. It's a bad drug and I will never go on it again. We all get it,

As far as your posts, Badancer, post away all you want, my friend. This is our forum and we talk about everything under the sun. It's who we are that's important and the journeys which have brought us here that entitle you to say whatever, whenever, how often and as many times as you like. I'm sure if you should ever get to the point of saying the same thing over and over, our polite group will let you know. LOL
You have added much and don't stop. We are family. Michael

Your politeness and concern about your posting like a madman show your heart and the concern you have for others. Keep it up. You are a good man.

I agree with everyone - post to your heart's content! I too hate the prednisone! Was on high doses then on IV Solumedrol. I was quite the bitch with roid rage. I can laugh about it now. My ileostomy saved my life! So, I will enjoy your posts - keep 'em coming! Dani

As Beyondpar said "the devil's drug". I was on it in the early years of my UC (age 25 to 35) ... I really can't say that it actually helped the UC a whole lot, but it sure helped me (and others) wonder if I was going crazy! And it made depression much worse.

So if it's helping you ... stick with it - and us.

At least you have 'an excuse' for a bit of craziness. Lots of us can't blame the Pred anymore

The Prednisone is almost gone, and with it, the plethora of lame jokes. I'm sure you can all use a break from The Badancer. Hope everyone is feeling well as we move into the crazy part of the year. Peace.
