Hi

Have your doctors given you any medications to try to slow things down ? If not go and ask them for some, and get them to run a blood test just to be sure that you are getting enough nutrition from what you are eating. Your probably just tired all the time because you are not getting a full nights sleep, but it is best to be on the safe side.

I am taking some medications for the same problem and have been for about 10 years now, it is just a case of trial and error. There are numerous different medications that help so it is worth going to see your doctor about it or even your stoma nurse. If one doesnt work try another, sometimes it takes a combination to get any improvement please just keep trying until something works for you. The stress of not getting a full nights sleep also will not be helping with the output, that is just a horrid pattern to get stuck in but something should work for you if you just stick with it and keep trying when one medication doesnt work, it will be worth it in the end. The only warning I can give you is be careful that you do not take to much of something because constipation is very painful, always start with the lowest dose of anything your doctor gives you, it is better to have not taken enough than to take to much, you will know when you get it right. Good luck and please let me know how you get on with things. I have had my stoma for over 16 years so I have had plenty of time to experiment and learn from my mistakes which have been many, but sometimes I think we learn alot more from these
