I've has my colostomy since losing my rectum to cancer on February 28, 2007.

I irrigate on a regular basis. This past month things have changed. Discharge of waste is a real problem, and

I experience incomplete irrigations along with painful discomfort.

My quiestion is: can a prolapse of my stoma cause these problems. My stoma protrudes several inches and is often

swollen. It is certainly not like the pictures of stomas that I see.

Please help!!

You need some professional advice.

Irrigation should not be painful at all.

Something could be seriously wrong.
