Hello again. Ileostomate here. Thanks for all the info so far and I have another question.
I always seem to have leaks just below my stoma. The skin is definitely softer down there. What I've noticed is my barrier ring always expands up and around my stoma and I think it then starts to leak around the bottom.

Last month, severe weeping and blood around the stoma. The appliance would not stick at all. A good majority of members offered advice and offered me products they had on hand to send me. How cool is that, huh

Hello everyone, I have had problems with my loop colostomy for over a year. I am now on a waiting list to close off the end to prevent blockages and poop coming out of my bottom. Can anyone advise what happens with this surgery?

I'm 2 weeks post-surgery, trying to get used to this very new life.
I have a quick question, wondering what longtime ostomates think here.
My doctors and nutritionists in the hospital kept telling me that I want an ‘apple sauce' consistency output. Mine is liquid, and I'm happy about it. Way easier and faster to empty liquid than apple sauce.

Ok. So I thought it was getting better. I am so itchy at the bottom of my stoma. So itchy I wish I could take a fork to it.

Someone had suggested using colloidal silver spray to help my skin. I believe that is what caused the rash near my belly button. So thats a no go. I'll stick to the calamine lotion for now.

I'm worried if I use antifungal powder it will keep the barrier ...

I had a ileostomy 4 weeks ago. I'm using a convex wafer and I'm experiencing pain at the top and bottom of it. It pushes in and hurts. Can anyone give me some ideas how to stop this or explain why it is happening?
