Hi I was just wondering if my supplies would be okay in the car while I'm at the beach. My boyfriend and I like to drive to the beach and spend the day there until we are able to check into our place where we're staying for the weekend, and I'm worried the heat will ruin my stuff. Just need any tips on what to do. Thanks

I was in the hospital for 3 months. I went in for something completely unrelated and left with an ileostomy and a fistula right above it, less than an inch away, that supposedly would heal and things would be a lot easier.

Hi everyone!
I'll be turning 22 five days post-op, so I'm rather young! Just wondering how everyone found surgery itself/recovery. Any must-have products, tips, or tricks?
I'm absolutely petrified, and I know it's going to hurt so badly. Please, please do not sugarcoat it to make me feel better. I need to be mentally prepared :)

My 4-year-old nephew Supermaned me on Father's Day, around the 6-week post-op time. I was starting to feel better. I feel like I am now sore and set back from his blow.
Has anyone experienced being hit in the abdomen, and did it cause any sort of issues for healing? I'm worried it could delay my reversal.

After my surgery and once I was home, it took a while for my appetite and taste to come back. My food intake still isn't where it needs to be currently, but it is getting better progressively.

Hi everyone, hoping this chat can help. I'm looking for any hints, tips, or tricks after an ileostomy reversal. I'm struggling with the pain and frequency. Some days I will go 4/5 times, others can be up to 10/15.

New ostomy bag just a couple of months in. Was wondering how people bathe? Are you careful with getting your bag wet, or is it okay to get it completely wet?

I've been researching parastomal hernia repair and read many medical research studies about it.

So our teen just had ileostomy reversal five days ago. Her bowels moved some 24 hours after surgery and she passed some gas, but at the three-day postop mark she experienced frequent vomiting and nausea. Beach Boy, I recently had an abdominal CT scan and the report just stated parastomal hernia but did not indicate the size of the hernia. I see in your post you stated you have a colostomy with a mild parastomal hernia. How did the doctor determine the size of your parastomal hernia?
