Happy to be with this group. I have a question: I have a very small lump directly on my stoma that almost looks like an ulcer and hurts so bad when poop gets on it. Has anyone ever experienced this?

My wife's favourite pizza is ham and pineapple. I will refrain from judgement I gather that uncooked pineapple can cause a blockage but if it is cooked on pizza, does that minimize the risk?

I'd like to know what everyone uses so as not to be uncomfortable where the adhesive is on the skin, down the sides, and bottom of the bag. I use a barrier around the stoma, but it's just very uncomfortable most of the time. I cry myself to sleep! Any suggestions would be appreciated. I've tried so many bags, but it's not the bag but the adhesive. Thank you.

I'm a caregiver for my wife, her ileostomy is giving us fits. The skin is enraged around the stoma, so not getting adhesion of the base, more leaks, rinse, repeat. I've tried Calamine, (it burns), zinc, (slippery), and changing from flat, circular barrier rings to convex.

If I don't have any other supplies, is it okay for me to put a barrier that is smaller than my stoma? It's only about .25 inch smaller, but I don't have any of the supplies that fit, just supplies I ordered when it was smaller.

Why is my closed-end pouch leaking? It seems like it's coming from the pouch filter, but I don't see any residue of a leak on the pouch, just on clothing.
