Has anyone had problems with tomatoes? I have had an ileostomy for 8 months and would like a good old tomato sandwich.

Hi everyone, I just underwent an ostomy reversal. They were able to reverse my ileostomy, close me up, and put me back together. I just wanted to know if anyone knows where I can donate wafers and bags. The hospital won't take them here where I'm at, and I don't want to just throw them away. If anyone has a suggestion on where I can do this, please let me know.

I was wondering what tips people had for making a bag stick and last for three days. I'm currently using Salts convex bags. I get them precut. I'm quite active in my daily life. At the moment, my bags last from one day, and sometimes now I am getting more days that they are lasting to about three days.

So here is my colorful story. For the 4th of July, I had red, white, and blue cupcakes. So I chose to eat a blue one because I know Marvin the stoma has issues with red dye. Maybe you have heard about it, maybe not. It helps with the pancaking (?) and to make your tummy look flat, and it has Velcro so it stays put.

I don't do it to avoid pancaking because I have found out a spray that is also a deodorant and kind of greasy helps a lot and I have not had any problem anymore since I started using it.

I used to love eating corn on the cob and it's in season now in the UK. I have thought about trying it in earlier years but am afraid of ending up with a blockage. I could puree it, but it's not the same as gnawing on freshly cooked cob with butter.
For perspective, I love black beans and have eaten those (home cooked with seaweed) with no problems - sometimes, if I ate a bit fast, a few beans ...

I just had my colon, rectum, and anus removed and my butt sewed up, but after a week I'm still having drainage from my butt. I feel like I'm sitting in a puddle. Is this normal, and how long after surgery should the drainage stop?

I am looking at transitioning to Medicare next year and wondering how much of the cost of supplies will be covered. Currently, under my company insurance, my supplies are covered 100% after I meet the deductible (which I always do because of other health issues).

My ileostomy is the result of endo. So I lost some rectum.
Should I expect to feel like I have to poop constantly for the rest of my life? Will I be constipated all the time?
I worry about hernias post-reversal too.
Does anyone have experience and advice on what to expect? Reversal is soon.

Hi I was just wondering if my supplies would be okay in the car while I'm at the beach. My boyfriend and I like to drive to the beach and spend the day there until we are able to check into our place where we're staying for the weekend, and I'm worried the heat will ruin my stuff. Just need any tips on what to do. Thanks
