Hello, I use a two-piece colostomy bag and base plate. The bag has a big round sticker that sticks to the base plate. I want to try an irrigation kit, but it seems the irrigation bags are meant to clip on to the other type of base plate. Any help much appreciated. Thank you.

My nurse gave me a sample of a 2-piece pouch to try out, but my question is... can you rinse with water when emptying like you can with a 1-piece?

Hi folks! I was unsure what to do, so I started this topic here.
I recently had a colostomy taken down, and a new one created. Because of these procedures, I was left with a supply of barriers and bags that are unused, but I cannot use for my new colostomy.

My husband had an ostomy placed on 7/20/2024 and he just came home from the hospital. He is having severe abdominal pain when he has gas and needs to get up and walk around for his body to release the gas.
Does anyone have any advice on how to ease the gas buildup pains?

Four months post-ileostomy. In the last couple of weeks, I noticed a sore area near the ostomy, fairly deep inside. The output has been thick. I have eaten a lot of watermelon, apples with peel, and tomatoes lately. Some pancaking/leaking at night. Any ideas what might be going on and how to fix it?

I'm interested in how much food a person with a stoma bag should eat each day and if there is really a benefit to eating smaller meals over 5 or 6 times a day rather than the 3 which has been our norm. I can't focus on sex because I'm focused on my ostomy. My husband says my ostomy is number one in my life. I don't know how to not focus on my ostomy so much. It's like a big baby that needs TLC all the time. Grr.
